According to a report that just came out, UCLA, and their top liver surgeon, gave transplants to four members of the Japanese mob - including a notorious Yakuza (mafia) leader.
During this same period, hundreds of LA residents died while waiting for livers.
The Japanese mafia leader was barred from entering the U.S., but the FBI allegedly helped him get in, because he promised to help them crack Japanese gang crime in the U.S.
But it looks like he tricked them - after he got his liver, he supposedly only gave them minor info.
